Diagnostic Visit
DIAGNOSTIC VISIT
$145 per visit. We don’t quote refrigeration repairs from a phone description. The visit measures what the unit is actually doing — compartment temperatures, compressor and fan behavior, defrost cycle, door seal and airflow — before any repair is proposed. You get clear findings and a written next step. If a repair makes sense, the diagnostic fee is credited toward it.
WHAT WE SERVICE
Specialist service for integrated and built-in units where a generic appliance visit usually isn’t enough.
Sub-Zero®, Wolf® and comparable premium built-in units. Independent service.
Refrigerators
Not cooling, warm compartment, frost build-up, water on the floor, noise, door not sealing.
Freezers
Temperature drift, frost, defrost faults, alarm or error codes.
Ice makers
No ice, slow or small ice, leaks, ice with taste or odor.
Wine storage
Temperature or humidity out of range, compressor cycling, condensation, fan or control faults.
WHEN TO CALL
You don’t need to know what failed. These are the signs that usually justify a diagnostic visit.
We don’t quote repairs blindly over the phone. We don’t sell parts or give DIY guidance.
Temperature
The compartment is warmer than set, food isn’t keeping, or temperatures drift through the day.
Frost
Frost on the back wall, ice around the evaporator area, or build-up that keeps returning after defrosting.
Water
Moisture under drawers, water on the kitchen floor, or drain lines backing up.
Ice maker
No ice, small or hollow cubes, slow production, or leaks around the ice system.
Noise
A new sound from the compressor or fans is worth checking before it becomes a failure.
Seal
Condensation on the door, a gasket that doesn’t hold, or a door that needs a push to close.
Controls
An error code or alarm is the unit telling you something measurable. Bring the code to the visit.
Uncertainty
Uncertainty is a normal reason to book. The visit defines what’s actually happening before anything is proposed.
SERVICE PROCESS
From the first temperature reading to the recommendation, the visit moves in a clear and understandable sequence.
Clear findings. Practical recommendation. Documented next steps.
We measure actual operating conditions and identify the fault before proposing anything.
Plain-English explanation of what failed, what it affects, and what the options are.
If repair makes sense, we quote it. If the unit isn’t worth repairing, we say so.
Correct-fit parts ordered, repair completed, temperatures verified before we leave.
REAL SERVICE PROOF
Repair quality is not only whether the unit cools again. It is how the fault is measured, how the kitchen is protected, how parts are matched, and whether the result is verified before we leave.
Real field photography from our own service work.
Temperature and cycle readings guide the diagnosis from the first minutes.
Floors and cabinetry protected before a panel comes off.
Parts matched to the exact model and serial, not “close enough”.
Compartment temperatures checked after the repair, not assumed.
An ice maker back to full production before we call the job done.
